On Wednesday 28 April 2010, 120 members and invited guests attended the second Annual General Meeting of Hepburn Wind.
Chairman Simon Holmes à Court announced that earlier that day Hepburn Wind had signed a turn-key contract for the construction of the wind farm at Leonards Hill with REpower System (see media release). "This contract represents easily the biggest part of our project — with it we gain certainty on the cost and the timeline for construction and this is our biggest achievement to date. Construction is programmed to begin in October, and the farm is expected to be outputting energy into the grid April next year."

From an impressive field of 6 candidates, two new Board members were elected: Daniel Magasanik and Kate Redwood (see Directors page).
The two retiring directors, Mim Dineen and David Wait were farewelled. Mim has been a stalwart of the project since 2006 and is heading west with her family for a two year adventure. David intends to remain active in our community engagement activities.
With the contract signed and the project costs known, Simon announced the final fundraising target: "Together — that’s all of us — we still need to raise $1.8 million. While this is certainly not a trivial sum, we know that, with the uncertainty firmly behind us, it will be much easier than the first $11.6m. Tonight we launch our final capital raising push. Over the next eight weeks we intend to close the remaining funds."
The revised Membership and Share Offer was released on the Hepburn Wind website to coincide with the meeting.
